The XU Institute for Spirituality and Social Justice in collaboration with Bellarmine Chapel will offer a two-part series on the Synod.
- Monday, February 5 at 7 p.m. in Bellarmine Chapel features Dr. Martin Madar, faculty for Systematic Theology and Ecclesiology, and parishioner, will present a general overview of the Synod, including the history of the notion of synodality in Catholic thought and practice, and highlighting the key topics of discussion at the Synod. - Thursday, March 21 will feature Anna Robertson, XU graduate in Theology, current member of the “Discerning Deacons” initiative, who was in Rome with other young adults at the start of the Synod. You can read her reflections on this experience here. Anna will share about her experience and reflect on the enthusiasm for female deacons expressed throughout this process by Catholics on all continents.
