Faith Formation

Bellarmine has a rich tradition of faith-filled community and learning. We hope that you will find something here that meets your needs.

Though we do not conduct a school, there is a program of religious education, for children and teens, and (intermittently) for adults of all ages.  The Tuesday Evening Program (GIFT) is designed to foster growth in faith and understanding of Catholic belief and practice.  Special needs students are fully included.  Children ages 3-6 may take part in the Pre-Primary Montessori program; Grades 1 - 6, in traditional classroom style, work in a process that invites critical reflection and connects with life experiences.  Weekly classes are held on Tuesday evenings, September through May, by a cooperative relationship at St. Clement Church in St. Bernard.

You are invited to consider volunteering as a catechist, aide, substitute teacher, or musician.  Contact us through the parish office.

Family Religious Education program is another format; it enables parents to share their own faith as they teach their children at home.  Reading materials, activities, and periodic gatherings for support, are provided from the parish.

Sacramental Preparation, for BAPTISM, CONFIRMATION, HOLY EUCHARIST, and for MARRIAGE is offered regularly.  Parishioners can be involved as co-ordinators, teachers, as well as participants!

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a very active process here, to welcome new members into the church.  It is an ongoing program to provide a way to inquire about the Catholic community, and to prepare people to be initiated.  All parishioners are invited to be involved in the work of hospitality, sponsoring, and catechesis, which makes this program vital.
